Delete Your Account

You have the right to request deletion of your HandymenSkills account and all associated personal data at any time. Once your account is deleted, this action cannot be undone.

How to Request Deletion

You can request account deletion through any of these methods:

What Gets Deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

• Your profile information (name, photo, bio, skills)
• Your contact details (email, phone number, address)
• Your uploaded documents and identification files
• Your booking history and messages
• Your reviews and ratings
• Your saved preferences and settings
• Your payment method details
• Your location history

What We May Retain

As required by Nigerian law and for legitimate business purposes, we may retain:

• Transaction and payment records (required for tax and financial compliance)
• Records needed for fraud prevention and legal disputes
• Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you

Retained records are kept only as long as legally required and are not used for marketing or profiling purposes.

Processing Timeline

• Confirmation: You will receive an email confirming receipt of your deletion request within 2 business days
• Processing: Account deletion is completed within 30 days of the request
• Final notice: You will receive a final confirmation email once deletion is complete

Before You Delete

Please note:

• Complete or cancel any pending bookings before requesting deletion
• Withdraw any outstanding balance from your account
• Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed
• You will need to create a new account if you wish to use HandymenSkills again
