1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the HandymenSkills mobile application and website (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
HandymenSkills is a marketplace platform that connects skilled service providers (handymen, artisans, and other professionals) with clients in Nigeria. We facilitate the discovery, booking, and payment for services but are not a party to the service agreements between providers and clients.
3. User Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
- You must provide accurate and complete registration information
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts
- Service providers must submit valid identification and professional credentials for verification
4. Service Provider Obligations
As a service provider on HandymenSkills, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your skills, experience, and qualifications
- Deliver services professionally and to the agreed-upon standard
- Arrive on time for scheduled bookings
- Communicate promptly with clients about booking updates
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in Nigeria
- Maintain appropriate insurance where required by law
5. Client Obligations
As a client on HandymenSkills, you agree to:
- Provide accurate details about the service you need
- Be available at the scheduled time and location
- Pay for services rendered through the platform
- Treat service providers with respect
- Provide honest reviews and ratings
6. Payments
- All payments are processed through Paystack, our payment partner
- Service fees and platform commissions are displayed before booking confirmation
- Service providers receive payment after the client confirms service completion
- Prices are listed in Nigerian Naira (NGN)
- Refund requests are subject to our Refund Policy
7. Bookings and Cancellations
- Bookings are confirmed once the service provider accepts the request
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled time are free of charge
- Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may incur a cancellation fee
- Repeated cancellations may result in account restrictions
8. Reviews and Ratings
Users may leave reviews and ratings after a completed service. Reviews must be honest, relevant, and not contain abusive, discriminatory, or misleading content. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Attempt to bypass the platform for direct payments
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
- Create fake accounts or manipulate reviews
10. Limitation of Liability
HandymenSkills acts as an intermediary platform and is not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by service providers. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user profiles or the outcome of any service engagement. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, HandymenSkills shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or receive consistently poor reviews. You may delete your account at any time through the Account Deletion page.
12. Dispute Resolution
Disputes between users should first be reported through the in-app dispute system. HandymenSkills will review disputes and mediate where possible. Unresolved disputes shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and resolved through arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
